Last updated: July 24, 2026

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using OpeningForge, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Acceptable use

You agree to use OpeningForge only for lawful chess study and preparation. You may not attempt to disrupt the service, reverse-engineer paid components, abuse public third-party APIs through the app, or use it to harm other users.

Intellectual property

OpeningForge, including its design, branding, and codebase, is the intellectual property of its authors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for personal chess study.

User-generated repertoire content

You retain full ownership of the opening books, lines, and annotations you create in OpeningForge. Because this content is stored locally in your browser, we do not have access to it. If a future feature allows sharing or syncing, additional terms will apply and be surfaced at that time.

Chess analysis disclaimer

OpeningForge integrates Stockfish and public opening databases to provide analytical insights. All evaluations, best-move suggestions, and opening statistics are provided "as-is" for study purposes. They may contain inaccuracies and should not be treated as authoritative competitive advice.

Availability

We strive to keep OpeningForge available and reliable, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Features may change or be removed as the product evolves.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpeningForge and its authors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of study data. Always back up important repertoires you cannot afford to lose.

Account termination for abuse

If accounts are introduced in the future, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms, abuses the service, or engages in activity that harms other users.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the operator resides. Governing law: [To be specified].

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Substantive changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
